April 25, 2020 Stella Damasus is a Nigerian singer, actress, producer, activist, and entrepreneur. She gained much prominence in the early ’90s in the Nigerian entertainment industry and was one of the pioneer figures of Nollywood. As she turns a year older, here are some facts about her. Early Life Stella was born on April 24, 1978 in Benin City, Edo State to banker parents. Her family name was Ojukwu but was changed to Damasus during the civil war period. She has four sisters. Her only brother died in 1991 after an asthma attack. She had her early education in Benin City but completed her secondary school education in Asaba after her family relocated.She graduated from the University of Lagos with a degree in Theatre Arts. The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, says over 40 health workers have tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Nigeria. While speaking during a media briefing on Thursday, April 23, 2020, the minister appealed to health workers to take all necessary precautions in dealing with coronavirus patients for their own safety. He said the government will continue to provide the necessary personal protective equipment for health workers, but that they must remain vigilant. He said,  "Please do not try to treat patients without using adequate PPE. Frontline workers must undertake refresher trainings in IPC at intervals. "This advice is necessary due to the number of health workers who have tested positive. They are over 40 now." ...
